The Department of Japanese Studies in the College of International Studies offers Korea's first local semester program in Japan. This program, which started in 2006, provides an opportunity for 20 to 25 third-year students each semester to experience the Japanese language and culture at Tokai University (Shonan Campus) for one semester. Particularly, the local semester program at Tokai University has international students from around the world, including the United States, Russia, Italy, Norway, and China, offering excellent opportunities for our students to gain international experience and broaden their perspectives.
The Department of French Studies in the College of International Studies has run a local semester program in partnership with Paris 8 University (Université Paris 8) since 2008. Students with a certain level of French proficiency have the opportunity to complete the second semester of their third year at Paris 8 University, earning up to 18 credits. Through this program, students can take high-quality lectures on various fields, including the French language, culture, society, and arts, directly at a French university. Additionally, they live in dormitories at Paris 8 University or in the city of Paris itself, interacting with students from around the world, enhancing their international perspective. The specialized language education program at Paris 8 University provides the ideal environment for improving students' French language skills, allowing them to significantly enhance their French proficiency and cultural understanding over the course of one semester.
