K-Culture

Thank you for visiting the
‘Department of Languages and Cultures’.

Modules

The K-Culture module is designed as a cultural studies module focusing on Hallyu culture, or K-Culture, which is currently gaining global attention and prominence. It examines the historical development of K-Culture, the characteristics and structures of the global cultural market, changes in media technology, and the dynamic interplay between global fandom and the production and consumption of culture. These aspects converge to create and disseminate K-Culture on both regional and global scales. Through a comprehensive approach that includes history, theory, and specific genres (such as OTT dramas, web novels, sci-fi, mystery, storytelling in entertainment programs, K-FOOD, etc.), as well as studies on technology, industry, cultural research, and case studies, this module aims to cultivate experts in future global Korean studies and K-Culture.
