Department of English Language and Culture.

Department

Since its establishment in 1979, the Department of English Language and Culture at Hanyang University ERICA has been providing practical language education and in-depth cultural education based on English language and literature education. We aim to produce talented graduates equipped with proficient foreign language skills, a global mindset, and problem-solving skills based on solid knowledge of their major.

To provide practical language education, courses such as English conversation, audio-visual English, and practical English, as well as interpretation and translation courses are offered in addition to basic English linguistic courses and phonetics. To better accommodate the needs and tastes of the new generation of students who are familiar with digital and media culture, new approaches are being developed to help students better understand the contents of American novels, and British and American plays within various media.
