“Department of Chinese Regional Commerce,”
nurturing minds to haul the second round of Korea-China exchange.
We are at a pivotal moment when the global power dynamics are being reshaped by the rivalry between the United States and China, the G2. Korea-China exchanges are also entering their second round of dramatic changes. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, the two countries have experienced the Hanfeng (Chinese wave) and Hallyu (Korean wave), but now we have entered an era of fierce competition. Over time, the traditional sense of shared identity has faded, and as both nations have come to understand each other more clearly, various conflicts have emerged. This is exactly the time when an upgraded Korea-China exchange that leads to mutual benefits is urgently needed.
The Department of Chinese Regional Commerce has established a systemized and scientific exchange system comprehensive of the Korea-China venture programs as well as the general areas of Korea-China regional studies, to satisfy both domestic and global needs and concentrating on fostering regional experts specialized in Korea and China.
